Ukraine reports 229 clashes and 9,393 Russian kamikaze drones in past day
Ukraine's General Staff says Russia used 9,393 kamikaze drones and 283 guided bombs over the past day, with 229 clashes recorded. The Pokrovsk axis was the busiest, with 39 attacks. All figures are Ukrainian claims.

Ukraine's General Staff recorded 229 combat clashes along the front over the past day, and said Russian forces used 9,393 kamikaze drones. Its operational update, issued as of 08:00 on 14 October, marks the 1,694th day of Russia's full-scale invasion.
All figures below come from the General Staff and could not be independently verified.
Strikes and shelling
According to the General Staff, Russia carried out one missile strike and 87 air strikes the previous day. These included 283 guided aerial bombs. Russian forces also conducted 2,780 shellings of settlements and Ukrainian positions, it said.
In the northeastern Sumy region, which borders Russia, the General Staff listed artillery shelling of 11 settlements, including Ulanove, Pysarivka and Khotin. It also reported an air strike near Vasylivka.
Ukrainian aviation, missile troops and artillery hit two Russian artillery systems and two drone control points over the same period, the report said.
Pokrovsk axis the most active
The Pokrovsk axis, in the Donetsk region, again saw the most fighting. The General Staff said Ukrainian defenders repelled 39 attacks there. It named areas including Serhiivka and Molodetske, and directions towards Vilne, Dobropillia and Novyi Donbas.
The General Staff reported these numbers on other axes:
- South Slobozhansky (Kharkiv region): 16 attacks repelled.
- Kostiantynivka: 12 attacks.
- Huliaipole: 10 attacks repelled.
- Sloviansk: 8 attacks.
- Lyman: 7 attacks repelled.
- North Slobozhansky: 6 attacks.
No assaults were recorded on the Kramatorsk axis. The General Staff said Russian forces conducted no active offensive operations on the Kupiansk, Oleksandrivka, Orikhiv and Prydniprovia axes. On the Volyn and Polissia axes, in the north, it reported no significant change and no signs of Russian offensive groupings forming.
The per-axis figures in the report add up to 98, well below the 229 total. The General Staff did not explain the difference.
Claimed Russian losses
The General Staff put Russian losses over the past day at 1,650 personnel. It also listed the following as destroyed or neutralised:
- 2 tanks
- 1 armoured combat vehicle
- 54 artillery systems
- 1 multiple rocket launcher
- 9 ground robotic systems
- 1,827 unmanned aerial vehicles
- 371 vehicles
- 5 units of special equipment
These are Ukrainian claims, and Russia has not confirmed them.
Comparison with the previous day
The previous day's General Staff report, covered by RealUA, cited 203 combat clashes, most of them on the Pokrovsk axis. The 229 clashes in the latest report are therefore 26 more. The latest update does not give a previous-day figure for kamikaze drones, so it is not possible to say from this report alone whether 9,393 is a record.
