The UAF post did not name the venues or say which club is the nominal home side in each tie, and it did not say how the pairings were decided. The kick-off times are given as published by the federation.
The headline tie
Shakhtar and Dynamo are the two best-known and most successful clubs in Ukrainian football, and their meetings are the country's biggest domestic fixture. Shakhtar have been displaced from Donetsk since 2014, when Russia-backed forces took control of parts of the Donbas, and have played their home games elsewhere in Ukraine since then. Dynamo are based in the capital.
Meeting in the last 16 means one of the two heavyweights will go out before the quarter-finals. The UAF did not say whether the match is a single tie or what happens in case of a draw after 90 minutes.
Other ties
Ties such as Mayak of Sarny against Kharkiv and Chernihiv against Epitsentr pit sides from different levels of the league system against one another. The source did not specify which division each team plays in, so RealUA has not classed any tie as an upset or a favourite's fixture.
The UAF did not announce the later rounds in this post.
